The Montana Tech Orediggers delivered a resounding victory over the Utah Valley University Wolverines on Saturday night, with a final score of 7-1. The game, held at the Butte Community Ice Center, was a display of the Orediggers’ superior offensive and defensive prowess.
With a staggering 68 shots on goal, compared to the Wolverines’ 27, the Orediggers dominated the ice. Despite the Wolverines’ 12 powerplay opportunities, they were unable to capitalize, while the Orediggers also went 0 for 7 on their powerplay chances.
The goaltending was a key factor in this game. Orediggers’ goalie, Carson Burkart, made an impressive 26 saves on 27 shots. On the other side of the ice, Wolverines’ goalie Brayden Baxter faced a barrage of shots, making 61 saves on 68 shots.
