In a display of sheer dominance on the ice, the Montana Tech Orediggers crushed the Utah Valley University Wolverines 11-0 in a game that will be remembered for a long time. The game was played at the Butte Community Ice Center on September 19, 2026.
With an impressive tally of 65 shots, the Orediggers left no room for doubt about their offensive prowess. The Wolverines, on the other hand, could only muster 39 shots, none of which found the back of the net, thanks to an outstanding performance by Orediggers goalie Charlie Lang, who saved all the shots he faced.
The Orediggers’ powerplay was also on point, converting 1 out of 5 opportunities, while the Wolverines failed to capitalize on any of their 8 powerplay chances.
The star of the night was undoubtedly Luke Benoit of the Orediggers, who managed to score a hat trick, further cementing the team’s victory. On the other end, Wolverines’ Isaac Bezerra had a rough night with 10 penalty minutes.
The Orediggers’ goalie, Charlie Lang, deserves special mention for his spectacular performance. Facing 39 shots, he saved every single one, achieving a perfect game and contributing significantly to the overwhelming victory.
The Orediggers will be looking to continue their winning streak when they face the Wolverines again on September 25, this time on the Wolverines’ home turf at the Idaho Ice World. With their current form, the Orediggers will surely be the team to beat.
