The Montana Tech Orediggers delivered a stunning performance on the ice, overpowering the Utah Valley University Wolverines with a decisive 6-1 victory at Idaho Ice World on September 26, 2026.
From the get-go, the Orediggers were in full control, outshooting the Wolverines 73-22. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they kept the Wolverines’ goalie, Brayden Baxter, under constant pressure. Despite Baxter’s valiant effort, making 67 saves, the Orediggers’ relentless attack proved too much.
On the other end of the rink, Orediggers’ goalie, Charlie Lang, had a relatively quiet day, facing only 22 shots and making 21 saves. The Wolverines’ lone goal came from Jake Clouse, but it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum in their favor.
The Orediggers’ powerplay was not as effective as they would have liked, converting only 1 out of 12 opportunities. However, their defense stepped up, limiting the Wolverines to just one powerplay goal from eight attempts.
A standout performance came from the Orediggers’ Mason Kramer, who contributed significantly to the team’s offensive success with two assists.
The Orediggers will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Washington State University on September 27 at Idaho Ice World. If this game is any indication, the Orediggers are a force to be reckoned with this season.
