The Montana Tech Orediggers triumphed over the University of Idaho Vandals in a sweeping 3-0 victory at the Palouse Ice Arena on October 25, 2025. The Orediggers controlled the game from the start, demonstrating their prowess on the ice with a solid offensive and defensive performance.

With only three shots on goal, the Orediggers showcased their efficiency as they managed to convert these opportunities into three goals. Tye Carriere, wearing the #27 jersey, was the star of the evening with two goals to his name. The Vandals, on the other hand, were unable to get a single shot on goal, leaving their goalie, Braxton Mahoney, with no saves for the night.

Despite having more powerplay opportunities, the Vandals couldn’t capitalize on any of their five chances, while the Orediggers also failed to convert during their four powerplays. The game saw Vandals’ #21, Gavin Des Jardins, spending the most time in the penalty box with a total of four minutes.

The Orediggers’ goalie, Rhett Engel, had a relatively easy night with no shots to save, contributing to the team’s clean sheet.

This victory sets the stage for the next face-off between the two teams. The Orediggers will host the Vandals at the Butte Community Ice Center on Friday, November 7, at 7:30 pm MST. After this resounding victory, the Orediggers will be heading into the next game high on confidence and looking to replicate their dominant performance.
