The Montana Tech Orediggers faced a difficult match against the University of Providence Argonauts at the Butte Community Ice Center. The final score was a disappointing 6-1 defeat for the home team.

The Argonauts came out strong, peppering the Orediggers’ net with 67 shots throughout the game, compared to the Orediggers’ 14. The Argonauts’ powerplay unit was able to capitalize once on their four opportunities, while the Orediggers failed to convert on any of their four powerplay chances.

In the net, Argonauts’ goalie Josh Matthews had a relatively easy night, facing 14 shots and making 13 saves. On the other end, Orediggers’ goalie Charlie Lang had a busy night, making an impressive 61 saves on the 67 shots he faced.

The Argonauts’ #10, Zachary Fulton, had an outstanding performance, contributing three assists to his team’s victory. The lone goal for the Orediggers came from #9, Colin McCarthy.

The Orediggers will be looking to bounce back in their next game, a home match against Eastern Washington University on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 pm MST at the Butte Community Ice Center.
